Little Bardfield Parish Council

Council Meetings

Parish council meetings are formal gatherings of the Parish Councillors responsible for making decisions on local issues affecting Little Bardfield, Hawkspur Green and Oxen End. These meetings provide a platform for discussing community concerns, planning applications, local projects, and other important matters. A representative from the local district council and county council also attend. The meetings enable Councillors to work together to improve the area, ensure community needs are addressed, and make decisions in the best interest of residents. They are an essential part of local democracy, giving everyone a voice in how our community is run. Residents are encouraged to attend, observe, and even participate in discussions when invited.

Meeting Agendas

When and where do meetings take place?

The Parish Council meets every quarter. A formal summons is issued at least 3 clear days before each meeting, and the agenda is posted on the village notice boards and website. All meetings are held at Little Bardfield Village Cricket Club in the evening.

In addition to regular council meetings, Little Bardfield holds an Annual Parish Meeting each year. This is a special meeting where residents are invited to hear reports from the Parish Council, discuss community projects, and raise any concerns or ideas they may have.

How are decisions recorded and communicated?

All decisions made during parish council meetings are carefully recorded in official minutes by the Clerk. These minutes provide a detailed account of what was discussed, the decisions taken, and any actions agreed upon. Once approved at the next meeting, the minutes are signed and stored as a formal record of the council’s proceedings.

The minutes are then made available to the public, usually posted on notice boards and the parish council’s website, ensuring transparency and accountability in how decisions affecting Little Bardfield and the surrounding areas are are made.
